Now I get to wear this ridiculous cast, that goes halfway up my arm, for the next, who knows how many weeks! Geesh! Right before I start a much looked forward to vacation, too! Since you broke your right hand (and if the cast is not going over the ellbow) you may - after a couple of days - even want to try what is possible with your left over movement of your right hand fingers. This would be a good opportunity to work on the fingering with your left and to learn or work on some things with less strumming or picking if your motion is severely hampered .

But playing guitar was great therapy. With the right hand, you need to get some arm socks or insulation to protect the top of the guitar and glue a pick on the cast. Hope it heals quickly. I saw an orthopedic surgeon, yesterday......the one who operated on my hip, as it turns out, and the first thing he did was cut that monstrosity of a cast off! He splinted my last two fingers together, and said that should immobilize the hand enough, for the metacarpal to heal. So, I've been somewhat liberated! I can actually write again, and do much of what I had been, prior to the fall. Still won't be fingerpicking for awhile, but it could be far worse! Paul, that's some amazing video you posted, there! I purposely tried not to lament my predicament too much, since I know too well, there's always someone who has it way rougher than you, no matter what your malady. That guy is quite an inspiration to anyone needing to see how much someone can accomplish, if they're willing to put the time into finding a way around a problem. Humbling, for sure! Looks like I'll be practicing my strumming, for awhile! Darrell 000-28GE
