Some of the bar frets on my 0-18 are a little sharp on the edges (fingertips dig in a bit on slides). I figure they must have been replaced at some point, and the luthier did not bother to dress them to soften up the side angles on them. Some feel a little higher than others, not sure that means they are coming out of the fretboard a bit. I'm concerned that local repair shops may not be familiar with these old fret types. Are special files needed to dress these up? Any tips on either doing the job, or getting it done well?
