I recently sent a friend a sampling of Bluegrass related web sites links. I thought it would be nice to start a thread where people post their favorite web sites. Youtube vids, tab sites, forums, builders, etc. My focus was on instructional material and related resurces. What do you have to share?

This last 2 are not specifically bluegrass and are not guitar oriented, but both site have a number of BG postings, and a wealth of mp3s to learn fiddle tunes from or play along with. The fiddle site leans to the old time side a bit, but so do I at times.

Thanks for the links and videos, I especially enjoyed the Bill Cheathum clip.

I'd like to share two videos that to me illustrate solid basic bluegrass band playing and arrangements. One was made years ago, one just recently, one is live outdoors, the other in studio. They feature some of the "best" artists for their day, three of whom appear in both. These are the examples I cite when someone wants examples of straight-ahead ensemble bluegrass.

It's a year old now and there is lots of information you might find interesting or useful. It's a good place to find out about people and players in that region that you might not otherwise hear about. I like to talk about Missouri style fiddling, Ozark style fiddling as the core of the music but expand outward from there. This year I will put more info on Flatpicking. Ya'll come! Hear!

Here's a whole slug of live concert recordings from the 60s to 80s, and a few more recent ones, featuring some of the most famous bands including Monroe, Stanley, the McReynolds and so on.

Two cool sites to check out. If you have about 4 years of free time (literally) there are thousands of recordings of concerts and even a few jams. Absolutely awesome. Searching Tut Taylor and you'll find a jam way back from Norman Blake's kitchen with Norman, Tut, John Hartford and others just jamming around the table.....awesome. And that's just one of many thousands.....4 years might not be nearly enough time
