This will be a non-cutaway Schoenberg Soloist, BRW and Italian Spruce, and trimmed out (to the best of my knowledge as coached by Eric) as Martin would have done an OM- 45 just after they dropped the bar-frets. I WILL use an adjustable truss rod, and some of the details inside the guitar will be done my way rather than Martins, as I think we've learned a couple of things over time.
I joined the top and back today. I have chosen wood of high middle quality from that which I have had around for many years now. First priority was sonic potential and visual character similar to BRW of "the day"; straight tight grain and near perfect quarter. I allowed a slight visual blemish and a tiny worm hole, which is all that keeps this from being mastergrade by the old rules IMO. Here's your first glimpse:
