If so, when did they stop making them (not sure of when the federal protection laws kicked in)?
Some protected animal byproducts (Tortoise shell, ivory etc) are in place for excellent and obvious reasons. I am just curious if it is possible (read: legal) to still buy "old stock" tortoise shell. I believe that resale of ivory (recycled ivory piano keys for example) is, as far as I know, legal. Is the same true for t-shell?
