Sold, please remove. 1994 Martin D-28 (topic)
Sold - This is a great sounding guitar built in 1994 in well played condition. Some minor finish cracks, dents and dings but very solid. Top is aged very nicely to a darker color. The nut and saddle are both bone (upgraded from plastic)....

Re: "a J-45 has no place in bluegrass!" (reply)
I wouldn't worry about it. Plenty of people to play with out there, especially if you go to Craiglist and other places. Find people you can have fun with, there are plenty of them out there.Scott

Re: WTB Martin D28 (reply)
I have a 1995 D-28. Neck is in good shape, very minor scratches on back but nothing you can feel, and I can send pictures if you are interested. Has a Fishman Matrix pickup and brand new hardshell case ($90 at Guitar Center). I am...

Re: R.I.P Pete Huttlinger (reply)
I saw him at a guitar shop doing a fingerpicking expo about 12-14 years ago or so in Columbus, OH. He was excellent. It was winter and he drove down from Cleveland (I think). He said is car didn't have any heat. It was surprising someone...

Re: What is the best out-of-the-box guitar for live performance? (reply)
Thanks for all the feedback. I wish I had the $$ for a retro series, but this guitar will only be for playing plugged in so the expense isn't justified. I just picked up a DC-16GTE with the Fishman blender system. If it doesn't work I...

What is the best out-of-the-box guitar for live performance? (topic)
My old D-28 needs a neck reset and the electronics on it are crap. I want to buy something to perform with that sounds pretty good without multiple filters. What does the forum suggest? This will only be used with amps and playing...

Re: Passive soundhole pickup suggestions for a Guild 12 string (reply)
Thanks Mike. I ordered some GHS strings. Will see how they sound.  I also gig with a D-28 with a Fishman Matrix undersaddle pick that sounds like sh!t. I use Elixer Nanos on it. any advice on making it sound better. I already use a LR...

Passive soundhole pickup suggestions for a Guild 12 string (topic)
I currently use a Dean Markely passive soundhole pickup on my 12 string. The problem is that it is a little too passive. Does anyone make a decent sounding passive clip-in pickup that has more volume than the Dean Markley?

Excellent advice, thanks everyone. I bought a clean boost pedal and a Boss AB-2. They won't get me everything I want, but it will be close.Scott

Re: Does anyone make a 2 channel DI box? (reply)
Thanks for the comments so far. My D-28 has a Fishman Matrix undersaddle pickup. The Guild F412 uses a Dean Markley soundhole pickup. When I run the 12 string through the DI using the 6 string settings it sounds pretty good except the...

Does anyone make a 2 channel DI box? (topic)
I use a LR Baggs Para DI and it gets the job done. The only downside is that it only has an input for 1 guitar. It would be great to have 2 guitars (6 and 12 strings) plugged into a DI and to be able to switch between the 2 of them and...

Re: Anyone using a vocal harmony pedal? (reply)
I have a TC Helicon. The biggest problem I have is that they create a need for additional cables. They do sound good and add a lot to the performance. Scott

Luthier options in Columbus, OH (topic)
