It's a D-18 styled guitar built to Jim Merrill's exacting standards. Beautiful, dark Honduran Mahogany back & sides, and a beautifully yellowed Red Spruce top. The width at the nut is 1&3/4", which makes this guitar a great multipurpose instrument for fingerpicking and flatpicking. The neck is really chunky with a nice comfortable V profile. Despite my initial concerns about the neck being too big, this large profile has turned out to be one of my favorites. Everyone's hands are different, of course, but for me, this neck is great. Also features Waverly tuners and a Brazilian RW headstock overlay. Cedar Creek case with Merrill logo will be included.
The guitar is in great shape, with only a very few and very minor cosmetic flaws. I bought it for $3300. The condition is unchanged from when I received it, other than a little nick on the top of the headstock which happened a few weeks after it arrived. With that in mind, I'm willing to come down to $3200 + actual shipping cost. I'd like to avoid paypal fees, so payment methods that won't take a chunk are appreciated. If the buyer strongly prefers paypal, I ask that he or she cover the fees. I have 100% positive feedback on ebay - my screen name is patricksutch.
I will consider trades, but am most interested in a sale as I just took delivery of a new guitar last week. Guitars that might interest me would be anything from an OM down to an 0. I would most likely trade straight up for a Merrill OM. As I mentioned, I could use the cash more than another guitar right now, but then again people like us can be easily tempted with other things - so if you're looking to trade, it wouldn't hurt to make an offer. A link to pictures is below. I can be reached on the UMGF or at patricksutch@gmail.com. Thanks for looking!
