I stayed in and watched Yanks-Mets (these used to be well-known baseball teams, now strictly of local interest), dining sumptuously on cheese and crackers and cheap ice tea.

Congratulations Brad on the anniversary.

After spending most of the day doing family stuff, we discovered yet another "micro-bar" in our neighborhood. Holds around 20 people, dog-friendly,
live acoustic music, 100+ micro brews (all available to go) and decent food. We may have found our new favorite haunt, at least until it gets too crowded like
all of our previous former haunts.
Sampled a bottle of this stuff: http://www.ratebeer.com/b...ver-consecration/94349/. Pretty pricey (most I've ever spent for a bottle of American beer) but eye opening and unique. Then we walked back home.

...but they lost me about 3 minutes into the 20-minute drum solo, so we headed for home |

I am wondering how one knows it's a 20 minute drum solo when one walks away after 3 minutes.

Went to my nephew's engagement soiree at the top (43rd) floor party room at 2800 N. Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. A catered affair with beautiful views of
Lincoln Park (and the loop) to the south and the north shore the other way. Met my niece-to-be's relatives from Montana and Minnesota, nice people, and
had a bird's eye view of the fireworks from Navy Pier. Jim
P.S. I don't do this every Saturday night. Most of the time I'm just a slob around the condo on weekends, with an exciting late night trip to the grocery or drug store to break up the monotony

Went camping in my backyard with 12 of my youngest son's friends. Little flashlight tag, firepit smores, scary stories -- the whole camp out thing but at
our house.
They didn't sleep. I faded at 4:15 and ended up sleeping most of a beautiful Sunday away. max |
