This guitar does not see much playing action, so it will be interesting to see how it reacts.
Will report back later...........

ToneRite Experiment Begins........... |
Lead | |
|
For Father's Day, I treated myself to a guitar ToneRite device. I just set it up, and my Larrivee Parlor (P-09) will be first up. I plan on doing the 72
hour treatment, and will see how it goes. Well made device, secure on the strings, resting up at the bridge. I have it sitting on my padded guitar string
changing set up, with the neck supported. I also placed a soft cloth under the back at the lower bout area. As I touch the instrument lightly, every part of
it is vibrating, including the neck, back, sides and of course, the top.
This guitar does not see much playing action, so it will be interesting to see how it reacts. Will report back later........... Jim D |

I'll be eagerly waiting for the full report(s). I'm very interested in the tonerite and would like some honest reviews.

I am a believer in the Tone Rite. In my experience, the most obvious positive results can be heard after about 6 full days of treatment. After three days (the
recommended initial treatment), the differences can be very subtle. An additional three days can really make a difference.

I can go for 6 days if needed!

I think im going to do the 3 days and then test it out then just leave it on when not in use for the last 3.

Reminds me of the "vibrator" some of us have used on our guitars a few years ago (from this forum) to get the guitar tops moving more. I felt that
there was a difference when I used it as well.

I don't suppose you made a "before" recording, did you? Might be fun to compare it with an "after" recording.

By the end of the day today (6/24), I will be at 72 hours. Last night I stopped the treatment for just a few minutes and tuned up the Larrivee Parlor. Played
a few chords and put the ToneRite back on. I think it is going to have a positive effect, but will wait until tonight to see. I plan on giving the Larrivee a
full 6-7 days, as suggested by a member here.

Are you able to quantify the tone - before and after - through a metered instrument/oscilloscope or will it be perception at time of test?

My reveiw will be perception at the time of test. I know its probably the worst way to do this but i think an honest reveiw will be helpful to all. Although i
cant wait to get this test done(mostly because my favorite guitar to play is being tied up) I am still skeptical of the results.

ok im going to go through this real quick for now and do a more in depth review later. But wow i can really tell a difference.
Guitar specs 3 month old 000C-16OGTE with FWI pins. Before tonerite the guitar was an all around good piece. Well balanced and good for what i use it for. not too much volume(could use some more) on it and a little empty when talking about bass but good mids. First impressions was a huge increase in resonance. I could honestly tell a difference. Entire range of the guitar seems to be improved. Bass is more responsive. the mids are pretty much where i feel this guitar shines. Dont get me wrong this device did not turn my 16 series into the greatest guitar ever, but it did improve in a few areas and i am happy with the results. Next on the agenda......... Once my 3 day old 000-18 GE sunburst gets back from Martin(dealer messed up the finish trying to fix my pick guard), I'm very interested on how the Adi top will respond. Going to keep this device on the guitar when its not in use for the next 3 days and see if anything else changes or it just stays the same. After that i might be willing to loan my tonerite out to an honest person and let them try it. I really feel I will use this device more to "wake" up sleepy guitars rather than try to cram 30yrs of play into 72hrs |

I predict that you will see even more of a positive difference with a red spruce-topped guitar. That has been my experience, anyway.

OK, after 72 hours on my Larrivee P-09 Parlor (stock model with no alterations), I would say it is a bit more resonant, like brivis observed. I thought this
guitar sounded boxy when new, and it still does. Nothing else seems much different. I have it hooked back up, and will let it go for a full week, then report
back.
