(06/23/09 6:54 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None So I had one of the most beautiful OMC-28 LJ M models and sold it off to Rod Neep. He seems to enjoy it and that makes me quite glad. I parted with the Juber in a fit of madness and knew I had to "replace" it in some fashion. So I got one of the last OM-28 Marquis Madagascar Martins from Jon Garon of My Favorite Guitars. Thanks Jon! Also got the Juber from Jon. This guitar is not as visually stunning as the Juber, but it sounds every bit as good. The back has some nice striping. The top has a bit of runout. The grain is wide in the middle and very tight off to the sides. I don't care for the tuners and will replace them with Waverly vintage ovals. The head stock is unique and the sides are perfectly quarter sawn. All in all I am very happy with the sound and playability of the guitar. I am okay with the satin neck and the string spacing is wider than on the Juber and more to my liking. The pictures are lousy, but will suffice for now. If the sun ever shines again I will take some outdoor shots. Thanks for looking. DD Just a few shots of my 000-28VS Madagascar for contrast. And one last shot of the Juber. By the way, the top on the Juber is the nicest Adirondack I've ever seen on any guitar. I think it may be that famed Smokey Mountain windfall stuff. I think you have a great combination of woods, and a model that is not very common. Good luck with it. I had to get used to a top that had "character" when my custom O-28 arrived. I love those twin stripes alongside the backstrip. I have the same model (also from MFG) and just love it. The trebles, especially, have become quite special now that it's been played in awhile. It has character, in a good way, and the back is striking. Like you, I had a Madrose Juber and bought an OM-28MM (which I think is terrriffficc). The Juber was great, but I prefer the MM.

Simply said it is one of the nicest sounding guitars that I have ever owned. I got rid of those cheapy Martin tuners and replaced them with some Waverly Vintage Ovals. I also buffed out the headstock. Now it is a real looker! Reg

My new 000-18NB came stock with Waves so why not the OM-28MM? It is a matter of personal taste I guess. Reg
