Not too many I recognize here - a couple of Stellas and a L00. Most people were not playing a Martin or a Gibson seventy or eighty years ago.

Folks, you are all very welcome. I've got an awful lot out of this forum over the years and I'm just trying to put a little bit back in. Happy Easter!

Here is an old photo of a 1926 -021 I have. Photo is from circa 1934 with owner playing guitar on the right.

Those images are amazing...appears to have been an entirely different world back then.

Great stuff, Gerry, sorry I missed these before.
Dlee, fine job of bringing it all back front and center.

Ditto Dario and David's posts.
Wonderful pics! Timon Afterthought: My (very old) parents passed away in the last couple of years, so naturally I looked through a lot of very old photographs, but unfortunately not a guitar or other (stringed or otherwise) instrument was to be seen. Wonder where I got my affliction from.

I love this stuff too, Gerry.
If you don't mind commenting on some, the first one, up there, it looks like a guy sitting there on the ground. The Dakota Drifter is sure cool, but looks about 13, and the "small sunburst" lady is really fashionable! thanks again. |

I'm always interested in old photos like these, particularly when the guitars are identifiable like the L-00 in one of your pics. I've posted an
article on my website that is a virtual tour through my collection of images and shows the most interesting examples I own. If you haven't seen that (I
suspect many here have) the article can be found here: http://www.guitar-repair.com/article_jan_09_vintage.htm.

Very cool, Spook! I wonder what kind of guitar that is in the band of beer drinkers?

Glad other folks like old instrument pictures. I have a whole lot more and a vague notion of a book project sometime with some
friends. I've been travelling in the U.S. these past weeks and visiting record (and guitar) collecting friends - some of whom have outstanding image
collections. I posted two or three other previous old photo threads prior to this one, I believe.
