The Goodwills around the country are co-benificiaries of this activity, another excellent side effect.
I've never bought so many clothes in such a short time, I'm not usually too active on that front. My wife has taught me to scour the discount places like Loehmans, Marshalls, Ross, and the Nordstrom Rack (my favorite) to get great deals on nice clothing. It's been a lot of fun to replace my wardrobe with minus-sized stuff. I'll be in Boston next month, can't wait to check out Filene's Basement! |

Thanks Rhys, I'm down 2 pants sizes and got rid of all my old ones. I'm feeling great and sticking to the south beach foods to avoid. Guess I should
read the phase 3. I had my blood checked and on the tryglycerides dropped 200 points and the cholestoral dropped 100 points. That happened rather quickly and
the south beach really works for me.
So I would say its a total success and thanks so much for doing this. I think one of the keys was the consistency of the the cardio workouts which was at least 5 to 6 days a week and 35 minutes a time. I started doing intervals and worked hard while at the gym. I figure if your going to do this to try to get the most out if it you should work hard at it. I am going to make some adjustments on the cardio and start adding in some resistance exercises. I been learning that the cardio alone is not as good as a combination for your overall health. -Tom |

I am UP 2LBS this week! I am entering my 12th day of the worst cold I have ever had, and just keep eating. No exercise as I don't feel up to it. I never
felt this bad when I was a smoker, btw.

I weighed myself Saturday morning, before heading to Paulafest, and was down two pounds. This morning I discovered that those two pounds -- derived from
empanadas, rugullah, and other tasty comestibles -- had accompanied me home from Connecticut. So: no change.

I'm on the road, down in San Diego helping daughter Diana move into her summer digs at UCSD. Not using my
home scale, so there is a possibility of error, but it seems right -- no change this week.
Edited Tuesday evening: Never mind - I just got home to my real scale and I'm -3 since last Monday, finally breaking the 50-pound mark. Rhys, since it's Tuesday, how about I take only one of those pounds for yesterday's weigh-in and save the other two for next week :-).
