Now the beer was spilt on the bar-room floor,
And the bar was closed for the night,
When out of his hole a little mouse crept,
And sat in the pale moonlight.
Now he lapped up the beer on the barroom floor,
And on his haunches he sat,
And all night long you could hear him roar,
Bring on your bloody cat !
Now it is hear rendering, to this bad ending,
For the little mouse that night.
For the barkeep thought, but he forgot,
To put out the cat that night.
So let this be a lesson to one and all,
Never stray till the light of day,
Too far from your hole in the wall !!
