Thanks to you all for your thoughts and prayers. I'm an especially big believer in prayers.
I'm feeling much better. My back is feeling pretty good. My hip is still a problem; I have trouble walking, and I'm having pain from the sciatic nerve. I'm still going to the orthopedic surgeon later this week, to see what the problem is/was. Probably the best thing he could tell me is that if I'll stay horizontle for another week or two everything will be OK. Thanks again, and I'll keep you posted. And Don...you're in no trouble with me!

Best Wishes for a speedy recovery. I also have had back problems in the past although not as bad as yours. I cannot imagine what you are enduring. . You need to complain more! Research shows that prayer from the outside works! Rest easy and get well! Bobby |

Hey Tom,
Glad to see you are going to the right kind of doctor!Lots they can do these days for bad backs. Hang in there buddy, Jan |

There is good news and bad news:
The good news is, the doctor reports everything seems to be mending pretty well on it's own, so no surgery! The bad news is, I have another month or so of enforced rest to look forward to. Gee, I don't know what this world is coming to...I thought working was too strenuous, now I find out retirement is too strenuous! Thanks everybody, for your prayers and thoughts.

Not throwing stones (you know the story about glass houses) just encouraging you to rest and heal properly. Have added you to my prayer list. Take care and God bless.

Tom, I just saw this. You know you are already in my prayer list, but now, your in there TWiCE! You hold the record my friend. You are my first TWICE. That
will result in one regular prayer, and one special one. Rest and heal my friend.
Blessings!
Best Regards, Daryl

What I want to know Daryl, is which ones get answered first? Regular ones or Special ones?
...you strike me as the sort of fellow that is accustomed to "pushing through" and doing what needs to be done. You have hit the nail on the head, I am exactly that. But in this case, I am following the Doctor's orders. If I am not better in two weeks, I am to call him back and make plan B. The Trigeminal Neuralgia is something I'll have to deal with the rest of my life, so I just do the best I can, but the back/hip stuff can get better if I follow orders. I'm following orders! If you noticed, I stopped moderating, especially in Buy and Sell, because it meant too many hours in the desk chair. I'm gradually coming back to moderating a bit, but staying out of B&S because it is more than is good for me right now. Thanks, Todd

Hey Tom,
Make sure you see a neurologist for the trigeminal neuralgia. One medication that has had some success is gabapentin-(neurontin).You should ask about it.It is also used for back pain with nerve damage/sciatica. Take care buddy, Jan |
