(06/01/09 12:40 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None Is there a Martin model that has the 000 or OM body, 14 frets, modified v neck shape, no edorser's signature inlay, but does have the shorter scale length (24.9)? Last visit to GC spent much time on an Eric Clapton model, and began to be very comfortable with both tone and playability. However, I just really wish I could find that guitar with no signature inlaid ... (I know, but that's just me). If only Martin would content itself to impress the endorser's name in the central back brace, or something of the kind ... would that not suffice? As all things, this is a mater of personal taste only. Having developed an increasing wish for a different body volume and shape in order to overlap the sound of my dreads a little less, I find I might also like to go with the shorter scale.... ah, but that signature. (06/01/09 12:46 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	When I bought my Pat Donohue I was not too enamored with the signature (in this case only the initials P D between the 11th and 12th frets). Richard Johnston at Gryphon said (and I usually can't tell when Richard is kidding), "if it bothers you that much, you can easily black it out with a Magic Marker." Anyway, the guitar is one year old next week. I enjoy it perhaps more than any physical object I've ever owned. And the signature bothers me, well... not one bit. (you can find these used for around $3k....about $3900 new) The 000-18GE also meets your specs....this would have the mahogany body and red spruce top w/ 2-5/16" string spacing at the bridge. If you ever need to get it back, I think you can just use some naphtha or something. But at least play an 000-18GE. One 000-28EC I played was nice enough for me to forget about the autograph and orange/yellow paint, others not. I'm not a fan of the less obvious toner in the V models, but own 2. Thus, hee right one might make the difference. While I was not able to pull the trigger on the 000-28EC I liked I came across my 00-18V. It's different, but wonderful in its own way and 00 is even more fun to hold than 000. That 00-18V also helped give the perfect excuse (rosewood) for me to get my OM. One more option. The Schoenberg store orders a custom 00C-21 (00-21C) custom. One of those in stock on a good month would drive my wallet crazy. Have fun shopping.

We informally called it a 000-35 MM, and right after that, they stopped producing the OM-35. Some were bursts, some were natural. Maury might still be able to have one made in the Custom Shop for you. Really nice short scale 000; no bling. No matter the legend or the musician. Also, who wants to sharpie or use black tape to cover up the fretboard. Then everybody will ask you what's the tape for. The solution would be for Martin to put the sig inside the guitar where it belongs. Also, how ridiculous is the posthumous signatures like the Gibson Robert Johnson and Martin's Clarence White D-18. Did their spirits agree to sign these guitars? These are great guitars but I'd never pay for one because of the sigs. However, if anyone would like to give me one then I'll take it. Hippiedog

I believe that qualifies as a "signature" guitar. My advice is to get over the signature and play the guitar that sounds and plays the best for you. Btw, I also own a 00028-EC and it's a pretty sweet guitar.
