My dad bought one (the 00021 I have), my uncles all have D18s or 28s (the D18 is from 1936, OMG, you should hear that guitar!!), my other uncle has a 1950 D28 he bought new after the war. Anyway, I was in a guitar shop getting my D18 fixed (refretted I think) and people were talking guitars and I said that Martins were the Rolls Royces of guitars. I wasn't dissing other makes that were mentioned, but I just love the sound (especially the old ones - you guys know what I mean). Anyway, one guy got a bit mad and said "you're just a Martin bigot", and frankly I took the name as a badge of honor. I do like other guitars (I've played some nice Taylors in some shops - that didn't have "the sound", but they were nice). I've also gone to some upscale shops and played a Collins or two (they sure are nice, but the sound isn't right for my ears) I lean toward the traditional Martins (D18, D28, D35 (which I stupidly sold), etc.)....just love that sound. Anyway, when I heard about the forum a few years back I was allowed to pick my handle and here it is. I've thought about changing it since people may misunderstand the tongue in cheek use of the word "bigot"...but I guess I'll keep it. "Funky Cold Medina" was played at the reception several times, and the friends who were staying with me during the wedding weekend somehow on the morning after morphed "Tone Lōc" into "Tōn Guy". The "ō" and the space proved to be impossible to preserve in an email address, hence "tonguy". Tony (Forum intro - page 11) Say hello to my little friend... Mr. Slots Street Name - J-Bang (Just Buy A 'Nuther Guitar) My cure for GAS - my wife asking, "Which one(s) are you selling to get that?"

So, I am way overdue to explain my handle after all these years here. I use Ozark because I lived there for several years in the seventies and I was changed forever. Also because I love Bluegrass/Old Time music and Ozark hearkens to that. 1951 is my birthyear. My kids still live in the Ozarks but just barely. I'm just a rolling stone, down the lost highway. Then as I read on, I found more than one forumite showing up multiple times--always at a time interval just barely within the limits of what health professionals are calling "short-term memory" these days. I'll not name any names, but hey, if they can forget, so can I! I'm "frailnail" because my fingernails are impossibly weak for a guy who likes to play fingerstyle guitar.
