The good thing, of course, is that now you know that you are ready to jump on one. Good luck finding another one, soon I hope.

report it to eBay if nothing materializes. Thanks all for your comments and support. Very cool group of folk here. Gracias.

Well, best of luck. It would be unusual for the seller to be out of town on the day the auction ends without a notice to that effect, so you may have saved
yourself $6,100.00. On the other hand, it could just be an inconsiderate seller.
Let us know ow it goes. Mac |

The vintage Martin era ended in 1967 'cause that's when I quit buying them.

Wow, Lee, what a shame. Hope it does work out into a real sale for you. If it doesn't, I'm sure you'll find a keeper yet. BTW, I consider that
guitar to be vintage. Now that and $4.95 will get you a latte.

Seller may still respond, don't give up hope yet! On high price guitars like this, it is always safer to go with someone with lots of guitar feedback but you may be pleasantly surprised in this case!...The photo of the headstock does look a bit strange, the front photo shows lots of wear, almost cracks on the faceplate, but the back is very clean. The headstock photos front and back also have different backgrounds, with one photo being much more professionally shot than the other...are they from the same guitar? A bit odd and definitely speak with the seller before sending money but it may still work out! I think even a 60s 000-28 would easily over $6,000 in today's market so I hope things work out for you! |

I'd give this one a day. The seller did a transaction just last week (although it was a negative).
The hunt is half the fun. Good luck. Mike |

Only a 3-day auction for a big-ticket item like that is also not a good sign. On the other hand, that BR sure looks sweet!

Well, I guess that answers the mystery of whether it was legit or not. I buy quite a bit off of ebay but don't think I'll venture into high priced
vintage guitars. Luckily I have Vintage Guitars (the store) close by.

Lee,
There's a 1946 000-21 for sale in "Buy and Sell" for $7000. Not exactly the same guitar, but close. I thought I'd mention it in case you're still interested. Chris |

Hi Lee,
I have a 1952 OOO-21 on Ebay right now. The opening bid is $4000.00. BIN is $4700.00. It needsa neck reset, bridge reglue, and fret work, but is playable, and holds tune well as is. htnj |

Lee, I just saw a 1959 000-28 listed on Steve Swan's website for $8750. Newer guitar (and more expensive) but thought you might like a look at it
nonetheless. No connections to the shop or seller, blah, blah, blah.

lee, sorry you lost out on this one, i didn't get to even see the pic before it was pulled but it sounded like you were getting a great guitar at a great
price...g'luck in your quest...as for the "vintage" discussion, i consider anything pre '70's as qualifying...ofcourse i might feel
differently if i had someting older than a '64, tony

Thanks, Tony. Instead I am buying the 000-21 that Tommy and I have been communicating about; we'll see if it floats my boat.
