I am having some trouble posting pics at the moment (hopefully something I can resolve) but Steve does have some pics posted on the Facebook page for Kovacik Guitars and Fretted Instrument Repair.
Steve totally nailed what I was looking for! This guitar has a German spruce top, tapered bracing, hide glue construction and a Brazilian fingerboard and Brazilian bridge. Steve also made a really cool pickguard from some old 1950s stock that he acquired from Martin. The guitar has an adjustable truss rod, which was something I wanted. The sound is incredible. Plenty of bass, but really strong mids and trebles too. I am always looking for guitars that have some bite and projection on the unwound strings and this one does not disappoint. It really projects. As with all of Steve's guitars, the playability is excellent. Very comfortable up and down the neck.
For those considering a Martin-style custom build, I can't say enough good things about working with Steve and about the quality of his guitars. He has produced some amazing dreads over the last few years and I couldn't be happier with this one.
