Radical change in perception of guitar after not playing it for a while
So this is a bit odd. I've had my HD28V in the case for about 3 weeks after purchasing my first-ever Strat (been an LP guy all this time as far as electrics). Anyhow, I've been playing the Strat daily on the couch, unplugged, and loving the ergonomics of it. You can just tuck it under your arm and play it in any lounging position or even walking around the house. I've really been digging it and putting in lots of hours noodling, more than usual for sure. It's quite the machine.
Anyway, after all this time playing the Strat I pulled out the HD28V, my beloved, long-time dream guitar and it feels like I'm playing a LOG. Huge, chunky neck, big thick strings, giant body. I've never seen acoustics this way before and I've been playing guitar for nearly 2 decades. Ever have that happen? It's like my mind re-programmed the entire perspective of the dread, particularly with the big V neck.
I'm starting to get used to again it but in all my years of playing all sorts of guitars I've never had such a radical perception shift. Now I'm thinking OM or 000 with a non-v neck all of a sudden, and I've always been a hardcore dread guy. Guess the Strat'll do that to you.
