			<description><![CDATA[ Soccer is the world&#39;s most watched televised sport and its audience share in the U.S. is constantly growing. I wouldn&#39;t change a thing. The supreme
difficulty of scoring a goal, the mounting tension as time elapses, the non-stop pressure without relief (for players and fans) is what makes soccer special.
But then again, I&#39;d rather watch a pitching duel than a homerun derby any day. Perhaps I&#39;m just odd. :-) ]]></description>

Hard to say if that is it.  I played soccer for over 10 years growing up and would have played longer if I had had more talent but I don&#39;t particularly

			<description><![CDATA[ Well as I said above, I don&#39;t think it&#39;s about education and sophistication. Educated, sophisticated viewers of American football &amp; baseball still
want to see points and runs scored when they watch the game on TV -- low-scoring football &amp; baseball games do not attract American eyeballs as much as
high-scoring games. I don&#39;t know why we&#39;re different than Europeans and Latin Americans in this regard -- maybe there&#39;s some kind of cultural

and realize why it&#39;s there. If it wasn&#39;t, soccer would turn into NBA basketball: all one-on-one long-ball play and little if any coordinated,

			<description><![CDATA[ I don&#39;t know, Dave. I played a lot of basketball, and still do. The offense on a fast break is a beautiful thing, and shouldn&#39;t be penalized for
outmaneuvering their opponent and beating him to the goal/basket.

The defense&#39;s job should be to stop the opponent from scoring, not to induce the referee to blow his whistle &amp; stop play.

I do wish they would modify the offsides rule. As it is now, I think it too often penalizes good, coordinated, aggessive offensive team play, and rewards
