Thanks for the info, and also that link. That version of Jerry Reed's "The Claw"by Eddie Estes was terrific. The sound and tone is super.
I've been pondering this issue of pick-up and nylon string guitars for a long time now and up until this thread, I had never heard of a Prismatone!
Just goes to show my ignorance. I'll be sure now to keep the Prismatone II and Sam Kennedy in mind when I get closer to that new nylon instrument I hope to get.

Mike, I'm in San Diego county. We had planned to add to the experience and make a road trip to pick it up. I understand Rick will be out of the country as of Tuesday, so I may not be able to do that. I'll contact you off-line after I talk to him. Thank you for the offer.

Well now that the guitar is off the market, I guess I won't get to hear any more about how it was the one Willie played onstage while Trigger was being hidden from the Feds. If that's the case, this particular guitar has its own legend going, and a cool one at that.

I just wanted to say, very briefly, that I wouldn't normally post a sarcastic comment like I did earlier in this thread (in the other limited posts I have made, I never have before). It was meant to be more of a rolling-of-the-eyes, whatever-you-say type of response than an attempt to start a conflict--precisely because it didn't seem, to me, that a sensible back and forth conversation would be possible. But anyway, sorry Mods.

I must say this has turned into one of the weirdest, albiet most interesting, threads I've seen in the few years I've been hanging around here. Thanks mods, for not shutting it down when it was getting good.
None of my business, but I don't understand why someone would be so mysterious about his true identity. Maybe he's Clark Kent or something....Personally I'm gonna miss PossessionofTrigger. I never imagined starting Classical Gas would lead to such a controversial...

Exactly, David. But Sam was tuned in long before he spoke up.
Edit: Obviously I meant that in a good way. Knowing his market and all. Not in an anonymous, skulking way that it may have been interpreted below. Sorry.

Okay, so someone in this thread mentions that a guy named Sam Kennedy is working on a new Prismatone. A couple of weeks later, Sam Kennedy himself joins us and comments on the new developments.

This morning I duplicated a pot of coffee that I made yesterday morning. I used the same manufacturing process, the same spoon to measure the contents to ensure uniformity, and water from the same tap, and poured it out of the same...

Calm down. Here is the bottom line:

Your guitar is worth $20,000 only if someone pays that much. Nothing anyone writes on these boards or wrote in eBay listings where we first conversed changes that.

For your information, Fishman made no attempt to reproduce the Prismatone. They attempted to emulate the sound and that is not the same thing. I am convinced that was the reason that the edition sold less than 60%. Willie collectors have made a big deal about this issue....
