Hello-

Looking for chord positions and tuning as played in the Van Ronk version. I know it's capo two and I think it's in drop D tuning. Does anyone know the positioning for the G chord with the descending run on the E string during the chorus? Sorry if this is vague...

Please let me know!!!

They focus on their unique playing styles and techniques. Sound samples and lessons are included. I am so glad to see Joni Mitchell get her due props long side of the great Neil Young. The magazine does an excellent job of capturing the signature styles of these musical icons.

Sting has been making the rounds on the talk shows promoting his new winter album. He has been playing a gorgeous Martin guitar - looks like an amberburst 00-37SM? I dont think it's his terz model. Anybody know for sure?

I've read a number of posts here, and I've pretty much narrowed it down to either Orrin Starr's dvd or a Steve Kaufman dvd. I'm having a little harder time figuring out which Steve Kaufman dvd would be appropriate. I've been playing for awhile, but play mostly fingerstyle stuff. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Is it possible for a guy to sell millions of records, get in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in two different bands and still be underrated? If so, that may be the case with Stephen Stills. Great distinctive, voice-like tone from the frailing banjo-blues-raga in the middle of 'Bluebird' to the Celtic jig in the middle of a 'live' performance of the 'Suite' many years later and so on. Good stuff.

Challenges of learning the notes on the fretboard

Having picked up the guitar again after a very long hiatus - like, twenty five years - I am determined this time around to learn the notes on the fretboard. When I was young, I played by ear and tab, and it generally helped that I had ten years of piano lessons and then did a music minor in college because I developed a pretty good ear. But now, I want to be able to translate my musical knowledge to the guitar, so I'm learning my way around the fretboard. It is very tedious. No teachers...

I have never really been a fan, but I just downloaded CLOSER TO THE BONE! I love this record... almost all of it is Kris solo on acoustic and the tracks that do have backing musicians are VERY subtle... very intimate... what other Kristofferson records are like this one?
