How long did you wait for your custom Martin?

For you folks who have a custom Martin, what are your customizations (be as brief or verbose as you like!), and how long did you wait?

I think it probably fluctuates a LOT. I was just curious, anyway.

I've got an 00-18V in ambertone on order since late Sept/early Oct. Really have no idea when it expect it, honestly! Martin moves in mysterious ways.

There has been some discussion of the 000-28H at Elderly's and other retailer "Customs". lately. I'm pretty new to Martin and didn't realize they made these specials, until I came to this forum. The specs always seem to be somewhat vague on their websites. My question is concerning the grade of woods used in these "Customs". Does Martin use a higher, or lower, grade of wood for these? Like the HD-28 Andirondack at Elderly. Is Adirondack high quality or...

I guess that can go in this section. Just got it and I LIKE it! The neck is considerably different than most "Mod V" necks I've played. More rounded and feels a lot like my old D-28, which is a good thing. I did a gig on Saturday, the maiden voyage, and my hand felt very good by the end of the evening. Great setup from the factory! Great sound from the factory! Kudos to Martin on this one!!!

You can now choose a 12-fret body and Cutaway bodies (12 & 14 fret) at the Custom Shop online. I haven't seen this feature before.

I own two Elliot Easton guitars HD--2006 (#13 & 20) and I am impressed by the sound, sustain, clarity, volume, projection, vibration that comes out of that instrument each time I play...I also own a 91' HD-35, 2009 D18-V, 2009 HD28-V, and 2009 D42. None of them sound like the Elliott Eastons in terms of Balance, clarity, projection, sustain etc...A true cannon with that vintage bone sound but with unreal clarity and string separation..... Does anyone know the production numbers...

Has anyone ever had a guitar with this configuration? It would seem the best of both worlds...The reason I'm asking is because a friend of mine had a Gurian, and if I remember correctly, it was a small-body but with much deeper depth. It was an amazing guitar. I'm kicking around ideas for a custom order.

I have a few things a need to straighten out before i place the final order on my custom! Hope you guys can help.

What is TOP GRADE and how does it affect the sound of the guitar? Is there any standard measurements when talking about the TOP GRADE
What does FINISH TYPE: Gloss/Satin Neck mean? If i change this will it affect the other finish options like TOP FINISH and such?
FRET WIRE: G300, are the frets smaller than standard frets?

Put another way....to 000-18NB or not to 000-18NB, that is the question.....I am in between a full blown rock and a hard place. I have the opportunity to buy either of these wonderful guitars (new) at a really nice discount. The price is not really the issue for me; with the only issue being that I can't by both (so no easy out advice there). Right now it is a toss-up. They both sound so very very nice. The triangular thing before the head stars. I'm making a custom and i need to make shure it comes with, its a beautiful detail. But what should i specify this thing as to make it clear for the martins folk that it needs to be one on my guitar!

Like if I order pretty much an 000-28ec, without sig (actually making a change here or there, but I know that will add or subtract from the total), what can I expect to pay just b/c it was made through the custom shop? Or will it cost the same as a stock ec. I know the answer is probably on here, but after searching some I hadn't really found a direct answer. So please help me out or point to the appropriate thread. Thanks!
